I had the pleasure of photographing each of these five incredible children individually and then the whole family and all the kids together for this fine art series.  Their mama is very excited to have 7 gorgeous canvases being shipped to her this week to hang on her walls in her new home.  It was exceptional to get each of the kids in front of my lens and have the time to capture their uniqueness and to connect with them.  The big girls each stayed and played afterwards to create some gorgeous images for my use as well.  I really want to do more of these simple, timeless, fine art style portraits of children.

This little darling was all decked out in her Christmas finery. Grandma sure does have style! We had so much fun, as always.

Zack and Lacy started their second Belly and Baby Plan just as their firstborn was getting ready to turn 2 (they are very brave).   Lacy and I decided to do a maternity session and Irv’s 2 year session on the same day (I told you she is brave!) and Zack, well we don’t really ask Zack, but man is he a trooper, and just goes with the flow (even when it’s super duper exhausting!)

We’ve had 6 sessions in the past two years, and I have gotten to know this little family and they have become friends along the way…my absolute favorite part of my job!

My job is already full of great experiences…getting to know amazing new clients/friends, making memories for them to share with their families and future generations, and seeing their smiles and tears when they see their images.  But twins sessions are TWICE the fun!  It is amazing to me whenever I photograph twins that when they first come in I can’t tell them apart…but by the time they have their photographs delivered, I’ve looked at their faces so much they don’t even look alike anymore and I wonder how I ever had a hard time telling them apart.

I love creating a family portrait during senior sessions, because it is usually the last time they will have a photograph of the whole family before the kids graduate.  The next family portrait often doesn’t happen until someone gets married.

Here are some of my favorites from this awesome family.

Andrea Jones Photography now offers complimentary professional hair and makeup artistry (by the talented Aaris Marsh) for all session types. Here are some recent same day transformations of a beautiful mom and daughter. They were each pampered and photographed separately and then we created a gorgeous heirloom wall portrait of them together that they will cherish forever.

I feel blessed for every client I have the pleasure of photographing…but watching young people grow up and blossom is one of the greatest blessings of all. I first photographed Kiya in 2006 when she was just 6 years old. We had another session when she was 7, another at 8, and again at 10. And then, she moved away with her family to Texas. Sadness. So imagine my surprise when I heard from her mom last year that they were coming to Montana for a visit this summer and they wanted me to do Kiya’s senior portraits. I was ecstatic! After getting her hair and makeup done at my studio by the talented Aaris Marsh,we had an amazing session. We started in the studio and then went outside for the rest, and we made some beautiful portraits of the now all grown up, extremely gorgeous, very tall, and still sweet Kiya.  I included a couple of images from her younger years, just for fun!

This little beauty got to show off her holiday dresses after Christmas (thanks to Grandma for bringing her in!), and be the center of attention for a few hours.  What a treat!  The tween age group is often the forgotten age for photographs. It seems parents come in for the first couple of years and then when their kids hit school age, they settle for just the yearly snapshot taken at school until their kids are seniors.  It was wonderful to be able to document Faith’s beauty at this in between age, even if she did hide her teeth for most of our images, ha!

Sophia lives all the way across the country, but her parents are Helena natives and her grandparents live in the area. She wanted some Montana scenery and Helena landmarks to set her senior pictures apart from everyone back home.  I think we succeeded in that goal, as well as just capturing her beauty.  Both of Sophia’s parents came with to our session, and my husband was assisting, so we had a great time chatting away through all our locations.  I’m so glad I got to meet this sweet girl and her family.
