Archive for 'Seniors'

My job is already full of great experiences…getting to know amazing new clients/friends, making memories for them to share with their families and future generations, and seeing their smiles and tears when they see their images.  But twins sessions are TWICE the fun!  It is amazing to me whenever I photograph twins that when they first come in I can’t tell them apart…but by the time they have their photographs delivered, I’ve looked at their faces so much they don’t even look alike anymore and I wonder how I ever had a hard time telling them apart.

I love creating a family portrait during senior sessions, because it is usually the last time they will have a photograph of the whole family before the kids graduate.  The next family portrait often doesn’t happen until someone gets married.

Here are some of my favorites from this awesome family.

I feel blessed for every client I have the pleasure of photographing…but watching young people grow up and blossom is one of the greatest blessings of all. I first photographed Kiya in 2006 when she was just 6 years old. We had another session when she was 7, another at 8, and again at 10. And then, she moved away with her family to Texas. Sadness. So imagine my surprise when I heard from her mom last year that they were coming to Montana for a visit this summer and they wanted me to do Kiya’s senior portraits. I was ecstatic! After getting her hair and makeup done at my studio by the talented Aaris Marsh,we had an amazing session. We started in the studio and then went outside for the rest, and we made some beautiful portraits of the now all grown up, extremely gorgeous, very tall, and still sweet Kiya.  I included a couple of images from her younger years, just for fun!

Sophia lives all the way across the country, but her parents are Helena natives and her grandparents live in the area. She wanted some Montana scenery and Helena landmarks to set her senior pictures apart from everyone back home.  I think we succeeded in that goal, as well as just capturing her beauty.  Both of Sophia’s parents came with to our session, and my husband was assisting, so we had a great time chatting away through all our locations.  I’m so glad I got to meet this sweet girl and her family.

Senior twin boys Payton and Carter were great to work with. We had a long session with double the pictures, three locations, and some family portraits thrown in, but these boys were so good natured.   Mom ordered a ton a beautiful wall portraits for their home, which is a dream come true for me–to get a family’s portraits up on the wall and displayed for years to come.  I’m excited to share some of my favorites with you.

Had a great session with this handsome high school senior boy last week.  Here are some of my favorites to share.

This session was So. Much. Fun.  Tyler was so easy to photograph, he worked it like a model.  I put his mom and dad to work holding reflectors/scrims and carrying my gear, and they were troopers.  The family dogs were so well behaved, and the fall scenery was perfect for portraits.  There were just so many great images to choose from.  At the end of the session Tyler jumped in the freezing creek and ended the session with the wet look portraits (brave guy!)  Here is the proof video I showed Tyler and his parents when they came in to the studio to place their order this week.  Enjoy!

So I’m way behind on my Facebook and blog posts.  Here’s a few more of Madison’s senior portraits from this summer.  She has long since received her portraits, but thought I’d go ahead and blog them anyway!  We did some fun family images at the end of the session, which was a ton of fun.  Thank you, Floding family!

Here’s just one from last week’s senior session.  Not sure how one looks this gorgeous when it’s 97 degrees out, but she pulled it off.  We had an amazing session and there are so many more to come, but I promised one ASAP for this little beauty.  Hope you like it, Maddy!240_MMueller_070213b
